Our Holiday Tea & Japan Culture Day was a wonderful success, with many Japanese arts, a food truck and fantastic participants. We had exciting demonstrations on the garden lawn of Jodo – the art of stick fighting – and Kodama Taiko drums.
On the veranda, we were treated to the beautiful melodies of the Koto, which is traditional Japanese music. Inside the Teahouse, guests were able to watch and participate in two different seatings of Chado, the Japanese tea ceremony.
In-between festivies, guests were able to make their own Japanese calligraphy pieces and fill their bellies with the delicious food from the Slanging Corea food truck, featuring Korean-Mexican fusion.
Thank you to all the demonstrators and guests for making our annual Holiday gathering another special moment at the Shoseian Teahouse!
